Alliance provides clinivation and its clients unparalleled depth and speed of access to the nation’s largest GPO membership base.
Framingham, MA, August 31, 2001 – clinivation, Inc. announced today the launch of its resources alliance with AmeriNet, Inc., the nation’s largest membership-based GPO.
“The launch of this alliance will deliver many benefits to our clients and is a major milestone for our firm,” said Joseph Kozikowski, M.D., Chairman of clinivation.
“Expediting clinical development velocity by reducing access time to mission-critical resources is the primary goal of this alliance,” said Dr. Kozikowski. “We have accomplished this goal by the way we structured this alliance and designed its operations,” he went on to say.
In addition to accelerating clinical development and investigator recruitment, the alliance also provides additional benefits to clients. It facilitates strategic alliances by leveraging AmeriNet’s relationships with every major US medical supplier. It enables pre-positioning of new products for GPO review upon clinical approval. Furthermore, it provides resources for optimizing pricing and sales strategy by exploring cost-utility, coding, purchasing, and contracting scenarios, and for clarifying product performance requirements by accessing and balancing inputs from all key customer segments.
Open architecture systems have been built to automate and manage project-related access to AmeriNet’s vast membership base of leading academic medical centers, acute care hospitals, ambulatory care centers, integrated delivery networks, surgicenters, long-term care facilities, home health organizations, rehabilitation centers, and clinical laboratories. Within this base of approximately 15,000 members are leading, front-line clinicians of every medical specialty and practice setting, and key purchasing decision makers responsible for $5B of annual purchasing of more than one million different products from more than 1000 suppliers.
“The important benefits provided by this alliance and its operational infrastructure have already been realized by several of our clients during pre-launch piloting of each resource category,” said Dr. Kozikowski. “Feedback from clients and AmeriNet members has been very positive, and we look forward to implementing our strategy nationwide in the upcoming quarter.”
